Step 1: Installing GSPREAD library for python.
Download the GSPREAD library from here. This will provide all the APIs necessary to access a Google spreadsheet. Download on raspberry pi, the tar file from the link provided above,
Then untar is using the command tar -zxvf gspread-0.1.0.tar.gz
Get into the extracted folder and execute the command python setup.py install to install the library
Step 2: Installing setup tools library to support LCD library
Download the setuptools library from here
Download on raspberry pi, the tar file from the link provided above,
Then untar is using the command tar -zxvf setuptools-1.1.6.tar.gz
Get into the extracted folder and execute the command python setup.py install to install the library
Step 3: Installing library for LCD
Download RPLCD library from here. This will provide all the APIs necessary to work with LCD.
Download on raspberry pi, the tar file from the link provided above,
Then untar is using the command tar -zxvf RPLCD-0.1.2.tar.gz
Get into the extracted folder and execute the command python setup.py install to install the library
Step 4: Write the python code. You can take help of the API documentation of all the libraries from the links provided above. The code is available in the slideshow below.
Step 5: Open google spreadsheet and enter some values in the cells A1 and B1 ad run the python script to see the same on the LCD. The LCD connections are also given in the page where you downloaded the RPLCD library.
