- To develop a firmware for Arduino to access data from e-health sensor platform and to transport it over the USB (serial) port to PC.
- To develop a GUI software to run on a PC (running Linux/Windows/MAC) to receive data from Arduino and display it in a presentable form such as graph and instantaneous readings.
Description:
The e-Health Sensor platform from Cooking Hacks is a very flexible and pre configured health monitoring kit that was employed in this project. This project involved the use of two IDEs of same family, namely Arduino IDE and Processing IDE. Arduino was the micro controller platform used to access signals from the sensor kit. Thanks to the library developed and maintained by Cooking Hacks for the sensor kit compliance with Arduino. Pre built libraries in Processing IDE namely ControlP5 and Grafica aided in the development of the text controls like buttons, text boxes used to enter the serial port and 2D plots as presented in the screenshot above. The application was built to run on Linux OS.
