3D Printing of Joystick and Throttle Lever as a part of Flight Simulator Project Design and development of flight simulator is one of the most interesting projects I have worked on. The major challenge is to get the moulds for the joystick and throttle lever ready.
But die costs kept me off for a while from realising the design I had developed for the joystick and throttle lever. 3D printing came to my mind and I happened to grab a cheap 3D printer (50,000 INR). Cool. I was able to try out different designs at economical costs and then narrow down to a final design after trial and errors, so I could move to production with confidence. My Master's Thesis - Mastering Real Time Embedded Systems I really had to "EARN" it... Yes.. My M.Sc [Engg. ] in Real Time Embedded Systems from Coventry University.
The whole course squeezed the juice out of me as I had to learn and prove my learning practically. The two years course now converges to my thesis which is still under development (as of 07.05.14). My thesis is about a design that allows multiple transmitters and receivers to be connected on a single bi directional data line. This design will be of immense help in wired sensor networks, on board peripheral communication with higher level of integrity. The project is being simulated in Proteus and bench-marking with other existing protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, LIN and FlexRay is alsi being done. |

Arduino Quadcopter Auto Positioning An algorithm to auto position the quad copter among pre programmed co ordinates in the three dimensional space is loaded to the arduino micro controller aboard the quad copter. It is programmed to do the following.
This way multiple copters move in air with an understanding between them for collision avoidance and sense physical parameters. |

Speaker for raspberry pi Raspberry Pi gets a speaker that could run from the on board 3.3V power supply, making it eligible to be an integrated speaker for someone who builds a general purpose portable computer with raspberry pi. The speaker is connected to RPI through an amplifier built around LM386 OP-AMP.

Computelevision using Raspberry Pi Raspberry Pi has been connected to a CRT TV and it runs a customized version of Raspbian OS. Unnecessary components are removed and office suite and media players are installed to make it a general purpose computer. The device seems to play .mp4 file without any hassle and documentation is so easy with wireless keyboard and mouse. Some tweaking is made to attain desired performance. Internet connection is provided using a wifi dongle or ethernet cable.

Arduino Based Ice Cream Syrup Dispenser The system uses ARDUINO MEGA 2560 with a TFT display and touch screen to automate the process of dispensing flavor syrups to ice creams. The touch screen is with what the user will set the duration of flow of each flavor, thereby varying the flavor accurately. The accurate replica cannot be made manually and so this system is employed.

Green Vehicles - Intel India Embedded Challenge 2010 Finalist This system employs certain undisclosed chemicals to absorb the carbon liberation from the vehicular exhausts. The electronics part of the system continuously monitors the carbon activity and reports the same to the vehicle's dashboard. The system will alert the driver if the chemical is exhausted.

Android Restaurant Order Maker The APP runs on any android device and has all user interfaces that will enable the bearer to take order from the customers. Once the order is taken, clicking the confirm button will print the order with the 'special instructions' for the order and table number, through a wireless printer installed in the kitchen.

GSM Biomedical Monitor The system uses Arduino and SIM900 GSM modem with bio medical sensors like pulse rate sensor and temperature sensor. The Arduino collects data from the sensors and logs it to the SD card. When the readings cross the critical limits, it sends an SMS to the registered number through the GSM modem.

The system is built around Arduino and Android app. The android app connects to Arduino through bluetooth dongle and issues commands. The Arduino acting as slave to the android commands, activates the relays accordingly and achieves the motive of switching ON/OFF electrical appliances from android mobile.
